Shane McMahon replaced The Miz at the WWE Crown Jewel event in the final of the Best in the World Tournament.

He then went on to celebrate the win, as if it had nothing to do with anyone else.
Ever since then, The Miz has insisted that they are both together, the best wrestlers in the world. This is because The Miz believes that he did all the hard work in getting there, and Shane McMahon closed the deal for them.
The Miz seemed perfectly happy to share the title.
Shane McMahon seemed less than thrilled about that, and now it became a difficulty for him to put up with the Miz on a regular basis. However, when they were not even able to win back the SmackDown Tag Team Titles Shane had enough, and turned his back on the Miz.
He now seeks to establish himself as the actual one and only best wrestler in the world.
