The backstory

On the post-WrestleMania episode of WWE Monday Night RAW in 2002, Maven met Al Snow in a Hardcore Title match. Chaos ensued soon after, as Spike Dudley came down to the ring with his own referee. Suddenly, a ridiculously big guy came out of nowhere and took out all the three wrestlers without losing much sweat. This guy was none other than the newest main roster debutant, Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman let out an evil grin and raised Brock's hand as The Beast posed for the camera.

Heyman meets Lesnar for the first time

A short while before Lesnar's main roster debut, Tazz introduced Lesnar to Heyman in OVW.

Tazz led me to the ring, where WWE Developmental Program Ohio Valley Wrestling’s most promising prospect was in the ring. There he was. Brock Lesnar. Jeeeesh, he was just so big, so massive, so huge. And he moved like a cat. There’s no way a man that size should be able to move so quickly and with such agility.
Tazz pulled Lesnar aside and advised him to talk with me. Lesnar listened intently, thanked me profusely, and said: ‘You know, I’m very coachable.’ Truer words were never spoken.

The aftermath

In a matter of months, Lesnar became the youngest WWE Champion in history when he defeated The Rock at SummerSlam 2002. Lesnar's first WWE run didn't last long and he left the company in 2004. Lesnar left WWE on bad terms following his WrestleMania 20 match against Goldberg.

The Beast went on to become a huge mainstream star in UFC and made his shocking return to WWE in 2012. Today, Lesnar is still a major attraction and a draw. Heyman, after all these years, is still standing beside Lesnar as his manager and mouthpiece.
