WWE/Indy News: Paul Heyman serenades Will Ospreay, offers him EVOLVE contract
There is a soft side to the advocate too, and it was on full display
Paul Heyman’s tour of the UK is underway.
And yes, it is the one that he advertised by challenging Donald Trump to a debate in.
Paul Heyman is not used to sharing the stage with anyone, but this time, he did make an exception for NJPW Superstar and one of Britain’s best pro-wrestlers, Will Ospreay.
Heyman, who was uncharacteristically effusive with praise for someone other than Brock Lesnar for a change, mentioned how much of a ‘revolutionary and evolutionary’ he was and that he was a great admirer of Ospreay’s work.
He also went one better, by giving him a personal business card and asking him to contact him when he decides that he wants to ply his trade in the USA.
But the greatest surprise arrived when Heyman unearthed a contract from EVOLVE, on behalf of Gabe Sapolsky, and offered it to a visibly chuffed Ospreay, asking him to consider it if he would ever want to perform outside of the NJPW.
For a man who is particularly known for his grandiose salesmanship, the moment that he shared with Will Ospreay was rooted in genuine appreciation and had the audience present at the event in a buoyant mood.
