WWE/Independent Wrestling News: Former WWE superstar Summer Rae set to make her return to the ring
What's the story?
Former WWE superstar Summer Rae, whose real name is Danielle Moinet, is set to make her return to the wrestling ring for the very first time since departing from the company in 2017.
In case you didn't know...
Summer Rae made her debut in 2011 for WWE's development territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) and eventually made her way to the NXT roster, where she competed till 2013 before getting her main roster call-up.
Upon her debut on the main roster, Summer Rae was initially introduced as Fandango's on-screen valet and dance partner. However, after a few unimaginative and lackluster storylines on the main roster, Summer Rae was eventually released from her WWE contract on October 29, 2017.
The heart of the matter
Ever since her departure from the WWE, Summer Rae has been severely inactive in terms of in-ring competition and has been focusing on her modeling career instead.
However, earlier today, Australian promotion Battle Championship Wrestling announced Danielle Moinet's official return to the wrestling industry, via their Instagram handle.
Moinet, who is now set to step into the independent circuit for the very first time in her career, will be competing in the on-going BCW Women's Championship Tournament.
As for her first opponent, the former WWE superstar now has the task of going head-to-head with another former WWE superstar in Ivellise Velez.
Summer Rae will make her debut for BCW and her return to the squared circle later this month, on the 25th of May, 2018 at the Whitehorse Function and Convention Center.
As of right now, it'll also be interesting to note if the former WWE superstar gets signed by any of the major wrestling promotions in the US.
Summer Rae's big return to the ring will certainly be something to watch out for and personally, I feel that a potential move to Impact Wrestling could very well be on the cards for Danielle Moinet.
