WWE Live Event Results: Barrie (18/12/2016)

Ambrose faced Bray Wyatt in the main event

The recent WWE Live Event took place in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, which involved the roster of the blue brand.

This event ran parallel to RAW’s Roadblock pay-per-view and couldn’t attract a full-house. Despite the absence of some of the top superstars like Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler, the WWE Champion AJ Styles and Becky Lynch, the show was pretty enjoyable for the crowds in attendance.

The results of the event are as follows:


#1 American Alpha (Jason Jordon and Chad Gable) vs Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango)

Although there was not much of a reaction for Breezango, the Alphas received a decent pop from the audience.

The match didn’t last long but the teams provided an enjoyable wrestling match. Gable and Jordon delivered the Grand Amplitude on Fandango and pinned him for the win.

Result: Amercian Alpha defeated Breezango


#2 Luke Harper vs Mojo Rawley

Rawley had to compete in singles’ action due to the injury of his partner, Zack Ryder.

Harper dominated the entire match although Rawley made numerous attempts to gain the upper hand. In the end, he pinned Rawley after hitting him with the Discus Clothesline.

Result: Luke Harper defeated Mojo Rawley


#3 Natalya vs Alexa Bliss (c) vs Nikki Bella vs Carmella [Fatal-4-way match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship]

Nikki Bella and Natalya received huge pops from the fans in attendance.

The match was entertaining but it seemed that it ended too early. When Natalya and Nikki were outside the ring, Bliss took advantage of the situation and hit the Twisted Bliss on Carmella to pick up the pinfall victory.

Result: Alexa Bliss defeated Carmella, Natalya and Nikki Bella to retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship

#4 Apollo Crews vs The Miz (with Maryse)

Before the match kicked-off, The Miz declared that there wouldn’t be any Intercontinental Championship defence at the event.

The Champion had the control of the match, courtesy several interference attempts from Maryse. Towards the end of the match, Crews gained momentum and hit the Pearl River Plunge on The Miz, thereby defeating the Champion in a non-title match.

Result: Apollo Crews defeated The Miz


#5 Heath Slater and Rhyno vs The Vaudevillains (Simon Gotch and Aiden English) vs The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor)

Rhyno and Slater received a huge pop from the fans in attendance.

This was another short match, yet entertaining. Slater was involved for the majority of the contest but in the end, Rhyno made the tag and gored English to pick up the win for his team.

Result: Heath Slater and Rhyno defeated The Ascension and The Vaudevillains


#6 Kalisto vs Baron Corbin

The match started with the former United States Champion dominating but soon Corbin gained the upper hand.

Kalisto had the full support of the crowd as they were chanting “Lucha!” throughout the contest. After several minutes of back and forth action, Corbin countered a high-flying manoeuvre of Kalisto into the End of Days and pinned him for the victory.

Result: Baron Corbin defeated Kalisto


#7 Bray Wyatt vs Dean Ambrose [Street Fight]

Ambrose received the biggest pop of the night. The two men beat each other down with chairs and kendo sticks throughout the match.

This was undoubtedly the match of the night, At one point, Luke Harper ran in and made an attempt to aid Bray Wyatt. This lead to the involvement of James Ellsworth, who was greeted with an amazing pop.

Wyatt got distracted as Harper took down Ellsworth and Ambrose took the advantage. He delivered the Dirty Deeds on the Eater of Worlds and picked up the pinfall win.

Result: Dean Ambrose defeated Bray Wyatt
