Roman Reigns defeated John Cena again

The road to WrestleMania ran through Buffalo, New York, on March 25, 2018, for the Superstars of Monday Night Raw. Even though the lion's share of the wrestling world's attention is now on SmackDown Live thanks to the return of Daniel Bryan, the flagship show is still home to WWE's biggest names.

This particular card was headlined by a match between Roman Reigns and John Cena with Alexa Bliss defending the Raw Women's Championship against Bayley in the other marquee bout on the show. Results courtesy of Wrestling Inc and Jon Lawrence.

#1 Asuka vs. Sonya Deville

Even though she's all set to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's title at WrestleMania, Asuka will reportedly remain on Raw until she dethrones the Queen of Tuesday Nights. In this particular encounter, the Japanese Superstar made short work of Absolution's Sonya Deville.

Result: Asuka def. Sonya Deville

#2 Kalisto vs. Gran Metalik vs. Tony Nese vs. Ariya Daivari

Four members of 205 Live faced off in a rather unremarkable match that Kalisto won.

Result: Kalisto def. Gran Metalik, Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari

#3 Heath Slater, Rhyno and Goldust vs. Curt Hawkins and The Revival

Even though a number of the NXT faithful had high hopes for The Revival, Dawson and Wilder have floundered on the main roster. During this show, they found themselves on the losing end of a match which ended when Goldust pinned Curt Hawkins, taking the former Edgehead's losing streak to 0-189.

Result: Heath Slater, Rhyno and Goldust def. Curt Hawkins and The Revival

#4 Matt Hardy vs. Bray Wyatt

Several pundits expected Bray Wyatt to be repackaged following the Ultimate Deletion, but the former WWE Champion has returned to action at house shows. Reports indicate that he could eventually join forces with Matt Hardy and become part of a "Woken" faction.

Result: Matt Hardy def. Bray Wyatt

#5 The Bar (c) vs. Titus Worldwide vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson — Triple threat match for the Raw Tag Team Championships

Even though The Bar have consistently been one of the best acts on WWE television, they will almost certainly lose the Raw Tag Team titles to Braun Strowman and his mystery tag-team partner at WrestleMania. On this occasion, they overcame Titus World and the Club to retain their straps.

Result: The Bar def. Titus Worldwide and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

#6 Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Bayley — Raw Women's Championship match

Bayley is expected to turn heel and have a high-profile feud with Sasha Banks in the immediate future, but she couldn't dethrone Alexa Bliss on this occasion. After the match, the San Jose native was double-teamed by Bliss and Mickie James, forcing Nia Jax to come out and make the save.

Result: Alexa Bliss def. Bayley

#7 Braun Strowman vs. Elias

The Braun Strowman-Elias rivalry has been nothing if not entertaining. As a result of their genuine chemistry and comedic timing, the two stars have produced some of Raw's most compelling television, displaying more range than most thought possible. However, inside the ring, there is always only going to be one winner.

Result: Braun Strowman def. Elias

#8 Roman Reigns vs. John Cena

The biggest attraction on this show was a bout between John Cena and Roman Reigns, two of WWE's biggest stars. In fact, one could argue that this match wouldn't be out of place on any WrestleMania card.

Just as was the case during their first meeting at WWE No Mercy 2017, Reigns defeated Cena after a spear, extending his undefeated streak against the 16-time World Champion.

Result: Roman Reigns def. John Cena
