Nakamura headlined the WWE Live Event in Las Cruces

WWE's Live Event attendance has been floundering of late, and the show in Las Cruces was no exception. According to a report from Wrestling Inc, the building was only 35% full, with many children in attendance.

The card was headlined by a WWE Championship clash between Jinder Mahal and Shinsuke Nakamura while Kevin Owens challenged AJ Styles for the United States Championship in the other marquee match of the evening. Without any further ado, here are the Live Events for the WWE Live Event in Las Cruces, New Mexico, courtesy of Wrestling Inc.

#1 The New Day (c) vs. The Usos vs. Breezango — SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship match

This was an entertaining opener with several comedy spots from Tyler Breeze and Fandango. The New Day retained their crowns after hitting the Midnight Hour.

Result: The New Day (c) retained the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships

#2 Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler

Roode and Ziggler reportedly had one of the two best matches of the night. The former TNA standout blocked a superkick and connected with a spine buster. He then followed up with a Glorious DDT for the win.

Result: Bobby Roode defeated Dolph Ziggler

#3 Sin Cara, Luke Harper, Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley vs. Baron Corbin, The Colons and Erick Rowan

This was a lacklustre 8 man tag-team match which didn't have a lot going for it. Even though Baron Corbin was involved, the babyfaces still went over.

Result: Sin Cara, Luke Harper, Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley defeated Baron Corbin, The Colons and Erick Rowan

#4 Chad Gable vs. Rusev

In one of the more surprising results of the night, Chad Gable managed to secure a victory over Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute is a relatively protected character on SmackDown Live, and it was surprising to see him take a loss to a babyface from the tag team division.

Result: Chad Gable defeated Rusev

#5 AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens — United States Championship match

AJ Styles retained the United States Championship against long-term rival Kevin Owens in one of the best matches of the night. After a back and forth encounter, the former TNA standout connected with a Phenomenal Forearm to get the victory.

Result: AJ Styles retained the United States Championship

#6 Naomi vs. Carmella

Armed with the Money in the Bank briefcase, Carmella could win the SmackDown Women's Championship at any moment. However, she's still jobbing to the babyfaces at Live Events.

Result: Naomi defeated Carmella

#7 Sami Zayn vs. Mike Kanellis with Maria Kanellis

Mike Kanellis hasn't set the world alight during the first few months of his WWE tenure; in fact, the former TNA X-Division Champion doesn't even get television time during certain weeks. Sadly, it looks like he's going to be condemned to the lower card for the immediate future.

On this occasion, Sami Zayn disposed of Mike Kanellis with ease.

Result: Sami Zayn defeated Mike Kanellis

#8 Jinder Mahal (c) with The Singh Brothers vs. Shinsuke Nakamura — WWE Championship match

Mahal managed to retain the WWE Championship in Las Cruces with an assist from The Singh Brothers. However, after the match, Nakamura assaulted The Singh Brothers to end the night standing tall.

Result: Jinder Mahal retained the WWE Championship
