WWE Live Event Results: Liverpool (7th May, 2017)

Finn Balor and Seth Rollins teamed up against Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt 

WWE held a Live Event in Liverpool yesterday as part of the latest stop on their European tour. We got a blockbuster main event as the ‘Big Dog’ Roman Reigns faced the ‘Monster Amongst Men’ Braun Strowman.

The main piece of news coming out of the show was the injury suffered by Emma. Without further ado, let’s go straight to the match card and the results.


Tucker vs. Jordan Devlin

The first match of the night was between two competitors from the WWE UK Tournament. The bout was soon interrupted by Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns which set up the main-event.

Dean Ambrose (C) vs. The Miz (for the WWE Intercontinental Championship)

The feud between Dean Ambrose and The Miz continued in Liverpool. The two faced each other for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and the ‘Lunatic Fringe’ delighted the fans in Liverpool by hitting the Dirty Deeds to retain his title after a hard fought match.

Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Mickie James vs. Alexa Bliss (C), Nia Jax and Emma

RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss teamed up with Nia Jax and Emma to face Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Mickie James. Unfortunately, the match had to be ended when Emma was injured after taking a move from Sasha Banks.


Neville (C) vs. Austin Aries (for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship)

Neville and Austin Aries have been feuding since the road to WrestleMania. So far, Neville has two PPV victories against the “Greatest Man That Ever Lived” and followed it up with another win at the Live Event in Liverpool.

Hardy Boyz (C) vs. Sheamus & Cesaro vs. Enzo & Cass vs. Gallows & Anderson (for the WWE RAW Tag-Team Championships)

The Hardyz were popular with the fans in England, as were Cesaro and Sheamus. As expected, the Hardyz retained their title after an exciting Fatal-4-Way tag team match.

The match was fast-paced, and the crowd was on the edge of their seats.

Golden Truth, Rhyno & Heath Slater vs. Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas, Titus O’ Neil and Curt Hawkins

This was a filler before the two big matches of the night went on, but it was a fun contest, and the crowd bought into it.

The babyfaces ended up victorious on the night.

Finn Balor and Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt

The first marquee match of the evening saw Finn Balor team up with the ‘Kingslayer’ Seth Rollins to face Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt. The Demon and The Architect ended up making a good team as they vanquished their foes to pick up another win on the European tour.

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman (Street Fight)

The main event of the show featured the street fight between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman which had been built up earlier on in the night. The two Superstars battled like they had a score to settle, but there could only be one winner.

After a late comeback, it was Roman Reigns who clinched a victory from the jaws of defeat.
