WWE Live Event Results - Montreal (December 29, 2019): The Fiend defends the Universal title; Roman Reigns and King Corbin main event

WWE SmackDown had a house show in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on December 29. The Superstars of the Blue brand competed in seven matches at the live event.

Only the Universal Championship was put on the line where 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt defended his title against Daniel Bryan and The Miz in a triple threat steel cage match and Roman Reigns battled King Corbin in a street fight match at the main event.

So, without further ado, let's have a look at all the results of the matches from the show:


#1 The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) and Braun Strowman vs. Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro

The WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Big E & Kofi Kingston teamed up with Braun Strowman to face the team of Sami Zayn, Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro.

Zayn, Nakamura, and Cesaro tried their best to isolate Strowman from the rest of his teammates by targetting him one at a time but in the end, The Monster Among Men picked up the win for his team via pinfall.

Result: The New Day and Braun Strowman defeated Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro


#2 Carmella vs. Sonya Deville (w/Mandy Rose)

Carmella had a one-on-one match with Sonya Deville who was accompanied to the ring by her friend and partner Mandy Rose. The Golden Goddess tried to intervene at times to help out Deville but The Princess of Staten Island overcame all obstacles to pick up the win.

Result: Carmella defeated Sonya Deville


#3 Lucha House Party (Kalisto & Gran Metalik) vs. The Revival

The Lucha House Party's Kalisto & Gran Metalik squared off against Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder of The Revival. Dash Wilder returned from injury and seemed to be in good shape.

However, after a good back-and-forth match, The Top Guys suffered a defeat at the hands of The Lucha House Party.

Result: Lucha House Party defeated The Revival

#4 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt(c) vs. Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz [WWE Universal Championship Triple Threat Steel Cage Match]

'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt defended the Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan and The Miz in a triple threat match inside a steel cage. The Miz and Daniel Bryan occasionally joined forces during the match to double team on The Fiend, however, Wyatt kept coming back every time.

Bray Wyatt retained the Universal title by pinning The Miz. Wyatt is scheduled to defend the title against Daniel Bryan at Royal Rumble in January.

Result: 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt defeated Daniel Bryan and The Miz


#5 Shorty G vs. Dolph Ziggler

Before the start of the match, Elias came out to the ring and hyped up the live crowd by singing. Dolph Ziggler interrupted him and then proceeded to join The Drifter to sing a song of Celine Dion along with him.

Later, Shorty G also came out and joined them in singing but then Ziggler attacked him and the match was made. Shorty G and Ziggler had a fast-paced and entertaining match and The Showoff lost the match by tapping out to the ankle lock.

Result: Shorty G defeated Dolph Ziggler


#6 Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross vs. SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. Lacey Evans & Dana Brooke

Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross took on Bayley & Sasha Banks and Lacey Evans & Dana Brooke in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match. Before the start of their match, Banks and Bayley kicked away the inflatable snowmen that were present near the entrance area.

Bliss picked up the win for her team by pinning Bayley with a roll-up.

Result: Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross defeated SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley & Sasha Banks and Lacey Evans & Dana Brooke


#7 Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin

Roman Reigns took on King Baron Corbin in a Montreal Street Fight match. Both Superstars fought around the arena and at one point when Corbin pulled out a kendo stick from under the ring so that he could attack Reigns with it, the latter got himself a hockey stick and received a huge pop from the crowd.

Their match ended inside the ring when The Big Dog pinned Corbin after spearing him through a table that was placed at the corner of the ring.

Result: Roman Reigns defeated King Corbin
