Royal Rumble is in the books and it will be remembered for a lot of things. Kevin Owens got a memorable win over Roman Reigns thanks to a surprise interference from Braun Strowman.
The friction between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar also sparked some fireworks during the show, whereas Charlotte continued her run in pay-per-views by securing yet another win; this time against Bayley.
With all these developments, WWE has a lot of questions to answer on Monday night Raw. Just like all the fall out editions of pay-per-view shows, this one is also bound to be exciting and in this list, we are going to take a look at the positive segments that we could get.
#5 Seth Rollins to be addressed
The situation between Seth Rollins and Triple H will be taking a new twist on Monday Night Raw. Stephanie McMahon is expected to address the Architect during the show and it is bound to be an interesting outing for the fans.
After what happened at NXT Takeover, the tides have shifted in favour of WWE as just weeks before, this was an irrelevant storyline that the fans complained about. This is most likely heading into a match between Rollins and Triple H at WrestleMania and the way WWE uses Stephanie McMahon to push the storyline forward would be something to watch out for. Triple H should also show up tomorrow to make things better.
#4 Continuing the Lesnar – Goldberg saga
After what went down at Survivor Series, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar once again crossed paths at the Royal Rumble last night. It was Lesnar that ended up on the receiving side once again, as Goldberg got a strong booking from WWE once more. The storyline is far from over from what we know, and Lesnar would want to settle the score.
Just like the case with Triple H and Seth Rollins, Goldberg and Lesnar could also be heading for a high-profile clash at WrestleMania. With the limited dates that they have, WWE will have to sweat it out to tell the story.
#3 The new champ is here
Neville silenced all his critics and completed his memorable comeback to the WWE by claiming the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Ever since he showed up after taking a break, Neville has been the main focus of the division and the title around his waist only makes things better.
Neville can now position himself better and WWE should invest its time in building the division around him.
There is still a lot of work that needs to be done in the division and someone like Neville would be apt to lead the change. The numbers that 205 Live does is a concern that needs to be attended as well.
#2 The reign continues
Charlotte continued her pay-per-view reign by getting the better of Bayley at the Royal Rumble. Though there were rumours earlier of the reign being a major storyline in the Women’s division, it’s only recently that the company has started addressing it. With her win, Charlotte has once again cemented her position on top and she needs a new challenge unless the creative team sticks with Bayley.
Nia Jax seems like a good candidate but the heel – heel dynamic might be something that WWE would hesitate to have. Bayley and Sasha Banks would also need new storylines and with WrestleMania around the corner, all of this needs to be sorted fast.
#1 And Still
A big talking point of Royal Rumble was the Braun Strowman interference. While Chris Jericho was trapped inside a shark cage above the ring, Strowman came as a surprise helping hand for Kevin Owens at the Rumble. Owens managed to keep the gold around his waist thanks to the interference and there are two big takeaways.
First of all, this marks the end of Reigns in the WWE Universal Championship scene for the time being. Secondly, Strowman vs. Reigns is a storyline that we could get going forward. This leaves Owens and Jericho unattended, meaning that they could feud between themselves if needed.
