WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: February 6, 2017

What next?

The episode of Raw that followed Royal Rumble will be remembered for a lot of things. The stand out reason perhaps would be the debut of Samoa Joe. Joe made his entry into the main roster in the best possible way and attacking Seth Rollins in the closing segment of the episode.

Brock Lesnar calling out Goldberg for the second match at WrestleMania proved to be another major talking point from the show. These two developments and other storylines have made the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw exciting and in this preview, we will take a look at the possible segments that WWE could roll out.

#5 Sami going after gold?

Jericho to feud with Zayn?

Sami Zayn got a huge win over Chris Jericho this past week on Raw. As Jericho is the reigning United States champion, this puts Sami right in contention for the US title and it wouldn’t be a surprise if WWE makes this a story line. There was no other immediate challenger for Jericho before Sami got the win on Raw and this clears up the path further.

With Jericho set to leave the company sooner or later, having him feud with Sami would be a great idea. Sami could be a solid US champion in the Raw mid card and WWE could utilise him more effectively going into WrestleMania.

#4 Nia Jax factor

The Dominant force

Nia Jax was booked as a dominant and unstoppable force when WWE rolled out Monday Night Raw last week. The dominance that she showcased against Sasha Banks puts her in a great position to pursue the Women’s championship. But Charlotte seemed busy with Bayley once again and diverting the attention to Nia might require some effort from the creative team.

The way WWE allows Sasha Banks to come back from such a beating is another factor that the fans should watch out for. The division is currently in a four-way battle and according to the rumours, we might get a four-way battle for the title at WrestleMania as well.

#3 Monster vs. Superman

Reigns has a score to settle

While Braun Strowman was not able to make a huge impact in the Royal Rumble match, he did make an impact in the WWE Universal Championship match between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns. It was the interference from Strowman that cost Reigns his chance to win the Universal title and WWE followed up the storyline with Reigns returning the favour on Raw.

Reigns and Strowman have unfinished business and WWE is likely to push forward the feud next week. It will be interesting to see where Kevin Owens would fit in this storylines as he is the champion and needs the limelight that’s supposed to come with it.

#2 The injury chaos

What next?

As mentioned in the introductory slide, Samoa Joe’s debut was arguably the biggest talking point from last week’s show. Joe came in to take Seth Rollins out and the vicious beat down apparently injured Rollins as well. The severity of the injury is something that WWE might address this week on Raw.

If Rollins is indeed able to work, then the whole angle is bound to evoke emotions heading into WrestleMania. Joe’s role in the whole saga has significance as well in the long run. The fans clearly want to see Hunter wrestle but there are still questions to be answered before all this and we will, hopefully, get some answers on Raw.

#1 Goldberg answers

Goldberg will give us some answers

Brock Lesnar issued a challenge to Goldberg last week on Raw. Lesnar said that he wants to face Goldberg at WrestleMania and get revenge for the embarrassment that he suffered at his hands at Survivor Series and Royal Rumble.

WWE has been building up the storyline for a long time and from the moment that Goldberg got a dominant win over Lesnar, it captured the attention of the fans.

The simple storyline and the high profile execution has hit the bull’s eye and WWE could bank on the same, this week as well. If Goldberg accepts, WWE can concentrate on pushing the feud. If Goldberg rejects, then we get to see another layer in the storyline.
