It was an ironic sort of night's worth of action as No Mercy came to a conclusion...where Champions you'd have bet would have lost survived and those that you'd have blindly picked to win ended up on the losing end.

Welcome to the unpredictable world of the WWE. If No Mercy is any indication to go by, Monday Night Raw promises to be a rollicking show as well.

And almost on cue, Roman Reigns - fresh off a career-defining victory over John Cena - will inaugurate the show with an appearance on Miz TV but given how combustible these segments eventually end up being, expect less talk and more action.

Speaking of which, Enzo Amore's nefarious actions may have won him the Cruiserweight Championship but will he be able to weather the storm of retribution that Neville will no doubt bring on Raw?

And coming off a stinging defeat to Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman will be itching to get back to winning ways as well...the only question being at the expense of which unfortunate soul?

Combing through all these points and more, here is our preview of this week's episode of Monday Night Raw.

Is this it for John Cena?

Is this goodbye?
Is this goodbye?

The 16-time world Champion broke down when addressing his WWE future on Raw Talk following his defeat to Roman Reigns, admitting that he doesn't have much gas left in the tank.

He also alluded to a Batman-esque role in the WWE going forward, availing himself to the company whenever the Bat signal is thrown up.

But as it stands, it looks like this is it for John Cena.

And given his invaluable contribution to the company over the past decade, the least we can hope for is a segment to celebrate him on Raw.

Will the WWE carve out 20 minutes for that? Or have we seen the last of John Cena for the foreseeable future?

What next for Roman Reigns?

Roman Reigns leaps from strength to strength
Roman Reigns leaps from strength to strength

Having added the most coveted feather to his cap by defeating John Cena at No Mercy, Roman Reigns stands peerless atop the wrestler hierarchy.

Now, it is quite indisputable that the WWE is his yard.

But such has been the lofty nature of Reigns' conquests of late that there is precious little left for him to challenge himself against next.

With Undertaker, Braun Strowman and John Cena all in his rear-view mirror, who will Roman Reigns set his sights on?

Will his Miz TV appearance to kick off Raw give us an idea?

Order in chaos

It took the combined efforts of everyone to take out Nia Jax
It took the combined efforts of everyone to take out Nia Jax

Despite the Fatal 5-way being the most anarchic match on the card, sanity prevailed when Alexa Bliss managed to retain her Title in the face of her stiffest challenge to date.

Yes, it took the combined efforts of the remaining 4 women to nullify the rampaging Nia Jax but when all the dust has settled, it is the hallmark of a champion to emerge with her hand raised...and that is exactly what Alexa Bliss accomplished.

So what's next for the Goddess of the WWE? Will Nia Jax - still to receive a one-on-one opportunity for the Raw Women's Title - press her case? The two former best friends have been teasing a full-fledged one-on-one feud for a while now and it seems inevitable that it's going to happen at one point!

Or will the Champion get a moment's respite to celebrate her against-all-odds victory at No Mercy?

Either way, the shadow of Asuka's impending arrival at TLC looms large.

Will Neville unleash his revenge on Enzo Amore?
Will Neville unleash his revenge on Enzo Amore?

The manner of beating that Neville was laying on Enzo Amore led many to believe that No Mercy would be one of the longest nights of the loudmouth Superstar's life.

But through cleverly bringing the Title belt into the ring and distracting the referee long enough, Enzo hit Neville with a sickening low blow that allowed him to pick up an unlikely victory and the Cruiserweight Championship.

Who'd have thunk it?

But as is often the case in the WWE, actions of this magnitude hardly pass without consequences and while Enzo - being the party animal that he is - probably has plans for a grand celebration, he had better have eyes in the back of his head.

A wronged Neville, seeking retribution, is not someone you want to turn your back on.

A Monster on the loose

How will Braun Strowman bounce back from the loss to Brock Lesnar?
How will Braun Strowman bounce back from the loss to Brock Lesnar?

The only thing more dangerous than Braun Strowman is Braun Strowman coming off a loss.

And despite dominating Brock Lesnar in the lead-up to their match at No Mercy, all didn't go to plan for the Monster Among Men as he was dispatched after an earth-shaking F-5 from the Beast Incarnate.

And while the WWE Universal Champion can go and put his legs up while awaiting his next challenger to show up, Braun Strowman will be eager to erase the memory of his loss by doing what he does best...destroying other human beings.

Which unfortunate soul(s) will fall prey to Braun Strowmans wrath? Or is another hard-hitting encounter with arch-rival Roman Reigns in the offing?
