Last week on Smackdown Live, Shane MacMahon announced the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match.
For years, we have seen the male wrestlers of the WWE through themselves around and put themselves through pain and punishment all for a chance to win the coveted briefcase and a contract for a World Title opportunity at a time of their choosing.
This year, we will see the women of Smackdown Live do the same for the opportunity to earn a contract for a guaranteed shot at the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship. So, who are the contestants this year?
Well, other than Naomi and Lana who are going head to head in a Smackdown Live Women’s Championship match at the upcoming pay per view, the rest of the Women’s Division will be participating. Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Carmella, and Tamina make up the field. But, who is the most likely to win the encounter?
Well, without any further ado, here is our list ranking the most likely winners of the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match:
#5 Tamina
At this moment, Tamina seems to be the person on the lowest rung of the Smackdown Live Women’s Division. Her return to the WWE hasn’t quite gone according to plan as she has been relegated to the role of enforcer in The Welcoming Committee.
It’s not just that which makes her the least likely to win this encounter, though. Tamina’s in-ring ability is still average at best, and her size is a definite disadvantage in this type of match. She is definitely someone who prefers strength over speed.
Her role in the match will probably be to cause massive amounts of destruction before being taken out by a number of other women banding together against her.

#4 Becky Lynch
Don’t get me wrong, Becky Lynch is probably the second-best wrestler on this list after Charlotte Flair, but it is her status as a perennial babyface that makes her victory highly unlikely in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match.
Naomi is almost sure to go over Lana in the Women’s Championship match, and that means there’s little to no drama involved if Becky Lynch captures the briefcase. There needs to be some serious tension between the champion and the briefcase holder for a compelling storyline.
If Lana somehow picks up and upset victory, though, Becky’s place on this list will be much higher up.
#3 Carmella
Carmella is easily the best detestable heel on the Smackdown Live Women’s Division which means she is doing her job very very well. She might not be the best wrestler in the world, but her ability to draw heat is second to none, especially when she is paired up with James Ellsworth.
And, Ellsworth is another reason for The Princess of Staten Island coming in a Number 3 on our list. Expect him to get involved in some way, shape, or form during the encounter and try to shift the tide for his beau.
There have also been rumours that WWE’s officials are looking to give Carmella a major push going forward.
#2 Natalya
Natalya is easily the best heel wrestler on the Smackdown Live Women’s Division today, which is what brings her in at Number 2 on our list. She is the most likely of all The Welcoming Committee members to pick up the victory.
She would provide the perfect heel dynamic against Naomi’s ultra-babyface status as the Smackdown Live Women’s Champion and Natalya has the wrestling ability to make future matches interesting.
With the WWE teasing a Welcoming Committee implosion, it would make the most sense to put the briefcase on Natalya and establish her as the top heel on the Smackdown Live Women’s Division. Unless they decide to go with...
#1 Charlotte
Charlotte is the best female wrestler on Smackdown Live. At 31-years-old, she is head and shoulders above the rest and is easily the most deserving to win the inaugural Smackdown Live Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
She is perfectly suited to this sort of match with her incredible athleticism and in-ring technical abilities, and she is the only person who can realistically challenge Naomi going forward. But, she’s a babyface, I hear you say.
Well, that needs to change ASAP. The Flair heiress does her best work as a heel and winning the Money in the Bank contract can be the perfect catalyst to end her tenuous alliance with Naomi and Becky Lynch.
This is probably the only way to save the Smackdown Live Women’s Division unless they miraculously bring Asuka into the mix at the 11th Hour and give her the victory instead.
