What's the story?

Following his successful WWE Title defence at the Fastlane pay-per-view earlier today, champion AJ Styles took to his official Twitter handle in order to hype his upcoming WrestleMania 34 match against "The Artist" Shinsuke Nakamura.

In case you didn't know...

On 28th January 2018, former two-time NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura created history when he won the 2018 Men’s Royal Rumble and became the first Japanese superstar to win the match.

Nakamura, who entered the Rumble match at #14, eliminated the likes of Sami Zayn, John Cena, and Roman Reigns in order to book his ticket to the Wrestlemania 34 main-event in New Orleans.

The heart of the matter

At Fastlane, WWE Champion AJ Styles did the unthinkable when he successfully retained his championship belt in a 6-pack challenge against Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, and 16-time World Champion John Cena.

Following his win, Styles confirmed his place at this year's WrestleMania card where he will square off in a dream match against "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura, and additionally, "The Phenomenal One" also promoted his bout against the former IWGP Intercontinental Championship on the social media when he tweeted the following:

As noted, in his tweet, Styles stated that his match against Nakamura had been billed as a dream match all over the world and that it was a fantasy that was born in Japan, signifying their days with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Nakamura, who earned a victory over Rusev at Fastlane, also tweeted after the conclusion of the Fastlane PPV as "The King of Strong Style" wrote that he always believed in his and Styles' destiny.

What's next?

WrestleMania 34 is scheduled to take place on the 8th of April, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, in what will be AJ Styles' third WrestleMania and Nakamura's first.

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura have previously battled each other at Wrestle Kingdom 10 for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship and it was an absolute classic, thus, it is likely that the WrestleMania 34 bout will also be another classic between the two former NJPW stars.
