What’s the story?

During a recent interview with Men’s Health, current WWE Champion AJ Styles was questioned on how a wrestler gets used to performing at WWE’s biggest stage, that is, the WrestleMania event, to which Styles responded by stating that it is indeed a very special moment to compete at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

In case you didn’t know…

AJ Styles made his WrestleMania debut back in 2016 against former six-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho in a losing effort, however, last year at WrestleMania, Styles earned his first victory at the pay-per-view when he defeated Shane McMahon at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

The heart of the matter

During the interview, AJ Styles noted that, according to him, a wrestler truly cannot get used to performing at WrestleMania due to it being only once a year and due to the immense amount of prestige that it maintains.

In addition, Styles said that walking out in front of 100,000 people who just want to see you perform, is an absolutely unbelievable feeling and is indeed a very special moment.

“It’s a special moment. That’s why there’s so many other guys in this business who maybe should have got out a while back, but it’s just hard to do when you’re walking down the aisle and there’s that many people with eyes on you.”

What’s next?

Following Styles’ recent successful WWE Title defense at Fastlane, “The Phenomenal One” is now slated to square-off in a dream rematch against “The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34 with the WWE Championship on the line.

Author’s Take

AJ Styles has had two absolutely amazing matches at WrestleMania so far and his upcoming bout against Shinsuke Nakamura is a guaranteed show stealer. The two men have previously squared off at NJPW: Wrestle Kingdom 10 and come April 8, the WWE Universe will witness the much-awaited rematch between the two.
