WWE News: Asuka's match stopped at Live event, she comments on possible injury

What's the story?

Asuka took on Mandy Rose at the most recent SmackDown Live event in White Plains and there was a very scary spot in which the Empress of Tomorrow took a nasty bump.

It initially looked as though she was dropped on her head that could have led to a potential neck injury or concussion. However, Asuka took to Twitter to reveal that she came out of the spot unscathed and has not suffered any sort of injury.

In case you didn't know...

The SmackDown Women's Champion last appeared on the SmackDown episode on February 19th and took on Mandy Rose in a singles encounter. Asuka came up short against Rose in the ten-minute match. The Golden Goddess' surprise victory over the former NXT Women's Champion earned her a title shot at Fastlane.

There has been a lot of backlash from the WWE Universe towards Asuka's sustained absence from TV, and when she eventually showed up, the creative booked her to lose to Rose this past week. While the Raw Women's title feud has been getting all the attention, it's frustrating to see Asuka been given the short end of the stick despite the fact that she submitted Becky Lynch the Royal Rumble.

Asuka, though, has been a regular feature on the house show circuit as she has consistently defended her title against Charlotte Flair in recent weeks. As Flair was scheduled to be on Raw, WWE got in Rose to take on Asuka at the recently concluded house show.

The heart of the matter

The referee was forced to stop the match after Asuka was reportedly dropped on her head after a spot went awfully wrong. She was deemed unable to continue and the fans in attendance were certainly concerned about her well-being.

However, there's no need to worry as Asuka put out the following tweet to put her fans at ease:

What's next?

Asuka thankfully came out of the botch unhurt and should be on the go-home episode of SmackDown for Fastlane to provide the final touches in her feud with Mandy Rose.

Fastlane will take place on Sunday, March 10th, 2019 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
