WWE News: Batista received a funny message from Shane McMahon after WrestleMania

Batista still has a good relationship with Shane McMahon

What’s the story?

A fan took to twitter to ask Batista if he watched WrestleMania 33. The Animal replied by saying that he watched the match between Shane McMahon and AJ Styles and that he gave the SmackDown LIVE Commissioner a full critique of his performance. The reply from Shane ‘O Mac was hilarious.

In case you didn’t know...

Batista’s last run with WWE was in 2014. The blue coloured gear that he wore during his last stint with the company was the subject of several memes; consequently, christening him, “Bluetista”. He left the company due to creative differences and was approached to appear at WrestleMania 32. Batista, however, turned down the offer.

Meanwhile, The Animal has kept himself busy in Hollywood. After a breakthrough performance in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Batista appeared in the 2015 James Bond film, Spectre. He also played the villain in the reboot of 1989 film Kickboxer, which also starred MMA legend Georges St. Pierre.

The heart of the matter

Batista noted on Twitter that he watched the WrestleMania 33 match between Shane McMahon and AJ Styles. He apparently gave his opinion on the match to Shane as well. In response to the feedback that Batista sent, Shane simply replied with, “#Bluetista”.

This is a thinly veiled reference to Batista’s mediocre run with WWE in 2014.

What’s next?

This tweet from Batista is a one-time thing and is unlikely to have any immediate impact in the world of professional wrestling. The Animal will be busy promoting and performing in his upcoming Hollywood projects while Shane will be busy performing on SmackDown.

Author’s take

While an immediate return from Batista is unlikely, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he comes back after a year or two. The relationship he has with Shane McMahon could be a big factor if WWE approaches him again. A retirement match for Batista is still a very lucrative proposition for WWE.
