Samoa Joe

So, in the last few minutes, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle has taken to Twitter to reveal that Bayley's partner for the WWE MMC will be.

The WWE Universe had been voting for her partner via social media and it has now been revealed that the former RAW

WWE had been asking fans to vote in a poll on Facebook during RAW last night, and Samoa Joe was the clear favourite, holding a substantial lead throughout.

But Kurt Angle has revealed that Samoa Joe is suffering from an injury that occurred during his match with Rhyno, leaving the runner-up to take his place.

Samoa Joe and Elias' opponent in the poll was Jason Jordan who picked up a fair few votes himself, but the gap between first, second and third was pretty overwhelming with Jordan at the bottom of the pile and Samoa Joe the runaway leader.

The news comes moments after Samoa Joe took to Twitter to reveal that he has landed a role in the Transformers animated TV series.

No word of an injury has come from either Joe or WWE, but the RAW GM broke the news, so we'll have to wait and see if we get a follow-up.

Whether the injury is legitimate or not, we don't yet know. WWE could have simply decided to remove Joe from the equation due to his newly-announced TV commitment, but we can't complain too much about his replacement.

Will The Hugger walk with Elias? And who will they be paired against?

They join some pretty impressive tag teams, with several already announced - Bayley and Elias join Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss, Finn Balor and Sasha Banks, Bobby Roode and Charlotte, Miz and Asuka, Apollo Crews and Nia Jax, Goldust and Alicia Fox, Rusev and Lana, Jimmy Uso and Naomi.

We'll no doubt find out shortly with the WWE Mixed Match Challenge debuting live on Facebook Watch immediately after next week's SmackDown Live.
