What’s the story?
As seen on Twitter, former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bayley suffered a nasty looking injury on Monday Night Raw. The incident took place less than 24 hours after Bayley, who retained the title at WrestleMania 33, lost the belt to Alexa Bliss at WWE Payback.
In case you didn’t know...
Bayley’s rise to prominence on the main roster hasn’t been well received by everyone within the world of professional wrestling, with some fans thinking that she was shot into the title picture due to a lack of other options. Whether or not that’s the case, the company appear to be repositioning her as an underdog once again after she lost the title.
The heart of the matter
On Raw, Bayley was involved in an 8-man tag team match as she teamed up with Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke and Mickie James to take on Nia Jax, Emma, Alicia Fox and the new Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. At some point during the match, it seems as if Bayley sustained a nasty scratch, as can be seen in the picture that she took.

What’s next?
It’s unknown whether or not Bayley will need any time off due to the scratch, but if they build up the idea that it was done at the hands of Alexa Bliss, then it could add yet another layer to their brewing rivalry. The two women appear to have great chemistry together if their match at Payback is anything to go by, and the company looks set to capitalise on that.

That is one nasty looking cut, and it looks like Bayley has gone ten rounds with a wolf of some description. Hopefully, they utilise the injury when it comes to the current storyline, as Bayley could use a little bit more fire moving forward. Then again, WWE may not want to broadcast something like this considering how touchy they are about blood and injuries of this nature.
