WWE News: Becky Lynch says she's open to working as a heel again
What's the story?
On the 3rd of May, The Irish Lasskicker Becky Lynch participated in an interview with Glasgow-based Evening Times to promote WWE's SmackDown LIVE taping in the shipbuilding capital of the world.
Lynch spoke her mind on a variety of topics, including being open to working as a heel, NXT's Nikki Cross and the progress in WWE's women's division.
In case you didn't know...
Along with main roster stars such as Finn Balor and Neville, Becky, who also hails from Dublin, has become as successful as her male counterparts.
The heart of the matter
Upon being asked whether she'd be open to working as a heel again, Lynch said that she would love to go back to being a villain, but feels that now is not the time to do that, as there's still a lot more to done with her babyface character.
“I’d like to be a heel again, absolutely. However there are still so many elements of my personality that have yet to come out – I’d like to do more comedy, for example, and show all the elements of Becky Lynch.”
The former SmackDown Women's Champion spoke about NXT's Nikki Cross. Lynch thinks that Cross's has a lot of potential and cannot wait for her to arrive on the main roster.
“I can’t wait to face her and work with her. The way she moves around is terrific, and the aggressiveness she has is great. She can be a real asset for the women’s division and I would love to see her on SmackDown.”
Lynch also spoke about the progress in the current women's division. She said that all the women now want to main event WrestleMania and have more stipulated matches like the Elimination Chamber.
“We’re already getting to do cage matches, tables matches and that’s really exciting. We just need to keep moving in the direction we are moving in and the destination will be beautiful.”
Becky Lynch will team up with Charlotte to take on the team of Natalya, Carmella, and Tamina Snuka aka The SmackDown Welcoming Committee.
Lynch turned face in NXT when she began feuding with Sasha Banks for the NXT Women's Championship and stayed the same ever since. A heel turn may help Lynch refresh her character and after this past week's swerve on SmackDown LIVE, it may happen sooner or later.
