What's the story?

The main event of RAW this week saw Braun Strowman take on The Big Show in a steel cage match, to end the power packed episode on a high note. The crowd in attendance loved the match, and so did Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle.

Kurt Angle went on Twitter and sent out the following Tweet for all to see. Both men in the match must have been thrilled with the praise from the WWE Hall of Famer.

This was the third match between The Big Show and Braun Strowman, in what many see as a passing of the torch, from one giant to the next.

Each match has been more thrilling than the last, with the ring breaking during the second encounter and the cage breaking during the third. The crowd has been at the edge of their seat every single time when the two giants collide.

The heart of the matter

Kurt Angle's seal of approval for these two giants who have redefined wrestling between big men is the ultimate vote of confidence for a veteran who's been urged to retire and make way for younger talent, and an up and coming talent who is still unsure of his footing.

Picking this particular match from a card that had a spectacular opening contest between Jason Jordan and John Cena as well as a thrilling match between Jeff Hardy and The Miz is a real confidence booster.

What's next?

Big Show takes some time off to recover from a hip injury while Braun Strowman goes on to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. Let's hope the clash at No Mercy can match up to the high standards that were set here.

It is clear that Braun Strowman is the next big wrestling star. It is heartening to see a legend like Kurt Angle extending his support not only for this breakout talent, but also for his long time friend, Big Show.

I certainly want to see these two men collide when The Big Show returns, on pay-per-view hopefully.
