WWE News: Fans show huge amount of respect to Big Show following Cage Match on Raw

"You still got it!"

What's the story?

Big Show has given a major part of his life to the pro wrestling business. He left it all in the ring during his cage match against Braun Strowman on the Labor Day edition of Raw. After the match, the fans certainly took notice.

In case you didn't know...

The Big Show started as The Giant in WCW but soon found himself in WWE under a massive contract to match his size. Big Show worked hard throughout his entire career to dominate and put people over when ever he needed to. He's been a great ambassador for the company on several occasions and seems to be game for anything.

On many occasions, The Big Show has entertained WWE audiences and left it all in the ring. The seven-footer has been impressive with several opponents before but one man who seems to have topped Big Show's list as of late is Braun Strowman.

Strowman and Show have met before and had a couple great matches. When the two met inside a steel cage it was no different.

The heart of the matter

The cage match between Braun Strowman and Big Show was much better than anyone could have expected. When the match was first booked plenty of people wondered why WWE booked a cage match at this juncture. But after the amazing contest those two had any questions flew right out the door.

The match concluded after Big Show was hurled through the cage, breaking a section of the structure and sending him crashing to the floor. WWE released a video of how Big Show shook it off after his massive encounter. But one thing that really moved us was the amazing reaction he received from the Omaha crowd.

Several fans rose to their feet to cheer Big Show and show him the respect he deserves. These fans, young and old realised what Big Show had just done for them and they were very appreciative of his sacrifice.

They chanted "you still got it" as Big Show limped up the ramp with the assistance of several WWE officials. It was a touching reaction after such an aggressive confrontation.

What's next?

The Big Show could be on his way to a hip surgery soon. There were reports even before his epic cage match against "The Monster Among Men" that he was due to go under the knife. Therefore, he didn't hurt himself in the match. In reality, he probably worked injured which should warrant even more respect from fans.

Braun Strowman will continue on his path of destruction and could always use Big Show's possibly hiatus as a story point to illustrate his power.

Author's take

There has never been someone like The Big Show and as he's gotten older it seems his veteran instinct has kicked into high gear to make him even better.

The Big Show is even more impressive after delivering that amazing top rope elbow drop on Strowman during last night's cage match if he did it hurt. Hopefully, this isn't the last we've seen of The Big Show.

But Braun Strowman's comment about sending Big Show to pasture might have been a clue this is the last we've seen of Big Show for a while.
