WWE News: Big Show set to undergo surgery
What's the story?
Big Show has been through some wars during his shoo-in WWE Hall Of Fame career. But it turns out his match against Braun Strowman in a steel cage on Raw might have been too much for Big Show.
In case you didn't know...
Braun Strowman and Big Show had a few amazing battles before. The first match was outstanding, which called for a rematch. Their second encounter literally blew up the ring. Therefore, their third match needed to be in a reinforced steel cage.
After the cage match was over, Braun Strowman picked up Show and hurled him through the cage. Big Show went plummeting to the ground and bounced off the section of cage breaking underneath him.
Big Show needed to be helped off by WWE officials as the crowd showered him an enormous amount of respect. If you'd like to see that, you can click here.
The heart of the matter
The Big Show was injured when he took that bump but he didn't want to play it off. Reports suggested that he was injured before his match against Braun Strowman, but that last bump really put it over the limit.
He tried to play it off as cool but the pain was too much. In the end, Big Show will require surgery to repair the damage.
His surgery had to be postponed until September 29th due to Hurricane Irma, but he's set to go under the knife after his encounter with The Monster Among Men.
Big Show's career might be wrapping up soon. He said before WrestleMania 33 that it would probably be his last "Show Of Shows". Hopefully, he'll be able to come through this surgery and get back to enjoying life.
Big Show has seen so much in the business and has an incredible mind for pro wrestling. Therefore, even when he retires it's easy to assume he'll have plenty of options outside of the ring.
This is just another example of pro wrestlers paying with their bodies in order to entertain the fans. I can't thank them all for what they do in the ring.
Big Show is an outstanding example of what you can do in this business. I can't wait to see what he'll be up to after his WWE career fully comes to a close.
