What’s the story?

In a recent interview with WTMJ-TV Milwaukee, WWE Raw superstar Braun Strowman narrated a pretty interesting story regarding how he was able to come up with his in-ring name “Braun”.

In case you didn’t know…

Braun Strowman made his WWE debut in 2015 as part of The Wyatt Family, a faction that was led by former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt and consisted of former NXT Tag Champions Luke Harper and Eric Rowan.

After breaking out from The Wyatt Family in 2016, Strowman began his singles career in WWE and has since then evolved as one of the most entertaining and popular stars in today’s WWE roster.

The heart of the matter

While interacting with WTMJ-TV, Braun Strowman claimed that he was initially inspired by Milwaukee Brewers player and the 2011 NL MVP Ryan Braun, with whom Strowman interacted at a Brewers game he went to.

Additionally, Strowman claimed that he had previously pitched a bunch of ideas for his name to the WWE creative but apparently, all of them were turned down by the company and Strowman eventually came up with the “Braun” name while he was sitting around the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

"Funny story, I wanted to meet Ryan Braun because that's a big influence of where 'Braun' came from."- Strowman stated.

What’s next?

Much like every other superstar on the WWE roster today, Braun Strowman’s current goal will be to make it to the WrestleMania 34 card in New Orleans, on the 8th of April.

Strowman, who recently eliminated five men at this year’s Men’s Elimination Chamber match, currently remains without an opponent for this year’s WrestleMania at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Author’s Take

The name Braun Strowman, in my opinion, is totally fitting for “The Monster Among Men”. Strowman has been one of the highly entertaining stars in today’s WWE and personally, I think he deserves a solid spot at this year’s WrestleMania card.
