WWE News: Braun Strowman says elbow surgery is a minor speed bump

Will the Monster Among Men still get a chance to face off against  The Conquerer?

What’s the story?

WWE Superstar Braun Strowman recently underwent surgery to fix a nagging elbow injury and will likely miss the next couple of Raw pay-per-views.

Despite this setback, Strowman took to social media to inform his fans that his surgery is just a minor speed bump on his way to becoming the most destructive force in WWE history.

In case you didn’t know...

Pro Wrestling Sheet broke the news earlier this week that Strowman had an elbow injury that will cause him to miss WWE programming over the next few weeks. The elbow injury was said to be minor, but it will require 4 to 8 weeks of recovery time.

Strowman is likely to miss Extreme Rules next month, but his status for his rumoured match with Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire is still in question.

The heart of the matter

Strowman took to Instagram to inform his followers that he will be even more dangerous once he fully recovers and that he will prove himself to be the definition of unstoppable.

What’s next?

Roman Reigns was expected to fight Strowman at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, but Strowman’s injury will likely lead to a new opponent being named for Reigns. Cageside Seats reported that Reigns may renew his rivalry with Bray Wyatt until Strowman returns.

Cage Side Seats also reported that Finn Bálor is being considered as a potential replacement for Strowman at Great Balls of Fire.

Author’s Take

Strowman’s injury couldn’t have come at a worse time considering how big of a push he’s been getting since the Brand Split. In less than a year, the WWE have changed Strowman from just another Wyatt Family member to a main event level superstar.

All Strowman needs is one more major victory over a credible superstar and his place at the top of the card will feel legitimate. Hopefully, that next big win comes in the form of the Beast Incarnate.
