WWE News: Chris Jericho responds to alleged fight with Sin Cara

Y2J and Sin Cara reportedly had a backstage fight during the European tour

The news was broken out by Justin LaBar and Wrestlezone that Chris Jericho and Sin Cara got into a fight during their ongoing European tour. MLW Radio indicated that Sin Cara got the better of Y2J and knocked him out:

Chris Jericho fired back, claiming that it has been 22 years since he’s been knocked out with this tweet:

What is interesting is that Jericho outrightly didn’t deny that the fight happened. Both have a reputation for being tough nuts to crack backstage, with Sin Cara having had a fight with Simon Gotch in catering on the July 19th Smackdown edition of the draft, while Jericho most notably had an altercation backstage with Brock Lesnar after his Summerslam match with Randy Orton.

Fightful.com investigated the situation and reported that the two people they spoke to in WWE expressed their shock that Jericho could act in the manner he did towards Sin Cara. Fightful also claimed that Jericho got hit and was dropped. As of now, it is only Jericho who is refuting the claims, and it is highly unlikely that he will talk any further about the situation.

However, in what is said to be “shortly after the incident”, Jericho posted the following on Instagram:

It will be interesting to see what the further updates of the story are. However, while there will definitely be dirt sheets investigating and trying to find out from inside sources, history has shown that nothing much comes out of it. Regarding the Brock Lesnar-Jericho situation, there was no word said from any party until Jericho was directly asked about it on Chael Sonnen’s podcast You’re Welcome.

It must be noted that Jericho reportedly gained a lot of respect among his locker room peers after the Brock Lesnar incident. Depending on who was really right in this situation, he may have either gained or lost respect.
