In case you didn't know...

McGregor very recently had a bout with Floyd Mayweather and lost. The bout still earned him a £100 Million, and he came out much wealthier than he had been before going into the match.

The rumour that McGregor will join WWE has long been circulating and is unlikely to go away anytime soon.

The heart of the matter

When questioned on his thoughts about McGregor's potential move to WWE, Jericho had quite a lot to say. Jericho said that there is little chance that McGregor will join WWE in 2 years with the money that he made with the Mayweather fight and even if he does join WWE will have to offer him a large amount of money.

Despite that Jericho did not rule it out completely talking about how McGregor's personality would suit WWE.

"I don't think he's gonna join in two years, not now with all the money he made. But it could happen at some point. He's got the personality for it, that's for sure."

He also said that he could face anyone if he came to WWE, as wrestling in WWE is not about weight class unlike MMA, and he would be free to wrestle anyone, even the Big Show, as Mayweather did in Wrestlemania.

On a side note, during the course of the interview, Jericho 'saved' the cameraman from getting run over.

What's next?

At the moment nothing has been heard from McGregor other than the fact that he relaxed his regime, and that he will not be part of any match till 2018 at least. When he returns it is likely to be a fight against Nate Diaz, and WWE does not seem to be on the cards for him right now.

Author's take

Conor signing with potentially WWE is a story that has circulated so many times that it is almost like the story of the boy who cried wolf, or Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United.

At the moment after such a huge payout any move to WWE for Conor, now or in the near future seems not at all likely.
