What’s the story?

With Daniel Bryan returning to the ring this weekend at WrestleMania 34 to compete in his first match since 2015, there have been a lot of questions over what kind of Daniel Bryan we might see competing.

Will he be in ring shape? Will he still be as energetic and high-flying? Well, the 'Yes man' answered some of those questions in a video that shows him hit a backflip in the ring in preparation for his New Orleans showdown.

In case you didn’t know…

When WWE announced that Daniel Bryan had been medically cleared for an in-ring return, it sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe.

Daniel Bryan was forced to retire from in-ring competition in early 2016 due to injury but, has fought ever since to prove that he can return. Sunday marks his first match back in a WWE ring.

The heart of the matter

Ahead of the former WWE Champion's return to the ring, WWE posted the following video on YouTube.

The video shows Daniel Bryan hit his first backflip in three years, with him commenting:

It's kind of nerve-wracking when you haven't done it in a long time.

The 'Yes man' allayed many fears the day after he was cleared on SmackDown Live already when he looked like he hadn't missed a step, flying from turnbuckle to turnbuckle with kicks on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn - before taking a powerbomb on the apron. This video, though, is an extra sneak peek into what we may see on Sunday.

What’s next?

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon, take on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, at WrestleMania 34 on Sunday, and Bryan has also been confirmed as a participant at the Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27th in Saudi Arabia.

Author’s take

Well, I can't get enough of seeing Daniel Bryan prepare for his return to the ring. Sunday will be truly special, and the former WWE Champion is sure to get one of the biggest reactions of the night when he returns to the building he made history in four years ago!
