What's the story?

Ahead of this weekend's Royal Rumble pay-per-view, WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan has decided to send out a warning to 205 Live superstar and his former nemesis from the Independent Circuit, Hideo Itami.

In case you didn't know...

Ever since winning the WWE Champion off former champion AJ Styles, 'The New' Daniel Bryan has put the entire roster on notice, thanks to his newly developed heel-ish attitude. Having won the WWE Championship in the latter stages of 2018, Bryan has already successfully defended his strap against 'The Phenomenal One' and come Royal Rumble will once again put his title on the line against Styles.

Bryan also has had a lot of history with 205 Live star Hideo Itami, who he previously faced during his Ring of Honor days and then eventually travelled over to Japan in order to challenge Itami, then known as Kenta, for a rematch under Pro Wrestling NOAH.

The heart of the matter

At this year's Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Hideo Itami will finally get his first shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and will look forward to ending Buddy Murphy's impressive reign as the champion of 205 Live.

Prior to the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, however, Itami has been put on notice by non-other than WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan, who in a recent promo mentioned his and Itami's clash at ROH, during which the former leader of the Yes Movement also ruptured his left eardrum.

Finally, Bryan also mentioned that if he ever sees Itami on SmackDown Live then the former GHC Heavyweight Champion will get what's coming to him.

What's next?

Daniel Bryan will defend his WWE Championship this weekend at the Royal Rumble against AJ Styles, whereas, Hideo Itami, on the other hand, will be involved in a fatal four-way match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship which is currently held by Buddy Murphy.
