What's the story?

WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan spoke about wanting to have a dream match against a top Monday Night Raw Superstar Gran Metalik.

In case you didn't know...

Having made his return to in-ring competition in 2018, Daniel Bryan developed a brand new attitude when he defeated AJ Styles to win the WWE Championship in November and eventually started labeling himself as 'The New Daniel Bryan'.

Bryan then went on to address the WWE Universe, claiming that the fans did not support the man while he recovering from his injury and preparing to make his in-ring return. At the recently concluded Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Bryan would go on to defend his WWE Championship for the second consecutive time by defeating AJ Styles.

The heart of the matter

In a recent interview with Yahoo! Sports, Daniel Bryan noted that he has always been wanting to face some of the best wrestlers on the planet and one of them is Cruiserweight star Gran Metalik.

Last month, Bryan successfully defeated former 205 Live Superstar Mustafa Ali on SmackDown Live and now hopes to share the ring with the 1/3rd of the Lucha House Party. (H/T: Wrestling Inc)

"It's not this selfless thing, it's actually a selfish thing."- Bryan stated.

Bryan, however, hopes to face Metalik in a singles match with an interesting stipulation, as he noted that he wants to have a Mask vs Hair match against the former CMLL star.

"I want to wrestle the best guys on the planet. Some of those best guys are on '205 Live.' We have Gran Metalik here and he's one of the best luchadors in the world and he's on that show. Man, would I love to wrestle that guy in a mask vs. hair match. That's sometimes where my passion gets ahead of me."

What's next?

Daniel Bryan is currently scheduled to defend his WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber against five of SmackDown Live's very best, in the form of AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, and Mustafa Ali.
