What's the story?

Dave Meltzer believes there's a top indie star out there right now that has the potential to be much bigger than Finn Balor in the WWE, and also thinks that the WWE would be incompetent to not want to sign this person, but who is he talking about? Well, Ricochet, of course!

In case you didn't know...

Trevor Mann, better known as Ricochet or Prince Puma is one of the hottest free agents out there at the moment. The high-flying agile superstar has been tearing up the indie scene and is at the top of many people's wish-list for the WWE.

The heart of the matter

Meltzer was answering questions on Twitter when he was asked if the WWE still wants Ricochet and this was his rather clear reply.

What followed is a brief conversation with other Twitter users who sarcastically said that Ricochet would end up on 205 Live if signed by the WWE (and what's wrong with that?). Meltzer responded by saying that if Prince Puma does end up on 205 Live then, once again, the WWE are incompetent (seriously, why's everyone hating on 205 Live?) He received this reply.

Meltzer then agreed with 'The Soloist' and then followed up with this.

That's right folks Meltzer thinks that Ricochet has the potential to completely surpass Finn Balor's star power in the WWE and that really is saying something because Balor is being pegged as the next mega-star in the company, even if his booking at the moment doesn't reflect it.

What's next?

The WWE really is raiding the Indy wrestling coffers with the recent debut of Lio Rush on NXT, and the rumoured interest in another top independent star Fred Yehi. But the acquisition of Ricochet is something that I think really would get people excited, even if it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.

Sign the man up. It's that simple.
