What's the story?

According to WWE network schedule, former WWE Tag Team Champion David Otunga is all set to make his return to the company at the upcoming Clash of the Champions pay-per-view in Boston Massachusetts.

In case you didn't know...

Earlier this year, David Otunga ended his 10-year relationship with singer Jennifer Hudson due to Hudson filing a protective order against the former WWE superstar, due to alleged "aggressive, threatening and harassing behavior". This also led to the police doing an investigation regarding a domestic battery.

However, Otunga would go on and take the help of his lawyer in order to deny the accusations. The 37-year-old also claimed that the reason why Hudson filed a case against him was due to her trying to make the WWE announcer look bad so that she could get the custody of their child, David Jr.

The heart of the matter

Following his split with Hudson; David Otunga took a hiatus from the WWE, as he did not work this year's Survivor Series pay-per-view as part of the pre-show panel, but it seems like WWE are all set to welcome back the former Nexus member to the company.

The WWE recently updated their network schedule and according to the WWE Network, David Otunga will be joining Renne Young and Peter Rosenborg at the Clash of the Champion pre-show kickoff panel, this Sunday at the TD Garden.

This will also be the first time Otunga will make an appearance for Vince McMahon's promotion in weeks, following his dispute and split with former partner Jennifer Hudson in November of 2017.

What's next?

Otunga is currently having primary custody of his son, David Jr, but the sole reason why Otunga is allowed to have custody of his son right now is due to Jennifer's hectic work schedule. However, on the other hand, Hudson has also decided to drop the protective order against her former partner Otunga.

Otunga making his return to the WWE could possibly mean that the company currently don't have any sort of plans to fire John Cena's former Tag Team partner.

Author's Take

In my opinion, I believe that David Otunga will be working for the WWE for a few more years down the line an I don't think that the company has any sort of plans to fire the former Tag Team Champion.
