WWE News: Edge returning to Smackdown Live next week

The Rated-R Superstar is back

It was announced last week that The Undertaker was returning for the 900th episode of Smackdown Live on November 15th. While Smackdown and The Undertaker may be synonymous, another major name that is synonymous with the blue brand is the Rated-R Superstar, The 11-time World Champion, Edge.

Smackdown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon announced on twitter that the WWE Hall Of Famer will be returning for the 900th episode of Smackdown Live

Edge made his name on Smackdown and was part of the original “Smackdown six” along with Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero. While his singles push began on Raw, it was his draft to Smackdown in 2007 that elevated his career to the next level. He won the Money In The Bank from Mr. Kennedy(who dropped it due to injury) and cashed it in on then-World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker.

Even though he was part of the Raw roster at that point, winning the World Heavyweight Championship made him a SmackDown star.

He ended his career as the World Heavyweight Champion, being part of the Smackdown brand. His time in the blue brand saw him have epic rivalries with the likes of Batista, Jeff Hardy, Triple H, and most importantly, The Undertaker, who he faced in the main event of Wrestlemania 24.

The Hall of Famer made an appearance earlier this year at Fastlane to promote his and Christian’s WWE Network show The Edge & Christian Show That Totally Reeks Of Awesomeness. The show was greatly received and its second season is currently in the early stages of the production.

In his second retirement speech on Smackdown, you can see Edge’s gratitude towards the blue brand, which he considered as his home:
