2 days ago, WWE announced the 30-days suspension of Eva Marie. The WWE superstar was suspended on the grounds of violating the company’s Talent Wellness policy for the first time. A day prior to this announcement, the former World Champion Alberto Del Rio and former Divas Champion Paige were penalised for the same reason. While no statement has been made by them regarding their suspension, Eva broke the silence by stating that she was wrongly accused.
TMZ Sports recently reported that Eva tested positive for the usage of Adderall and that resulted in her suspension for violating the company’s Wellness policy. Marie told TMZ that she will be appealing the suspension because she was prescribed to use the drug. A few months ago, the former WWE Champion Roman Reigns was suspended for using the same kind of drug.
TMZ report that their WWE source claims the medication of Eva was not properly approved by the company. Yet, the diva insisted that she has a legit prescription from her doctor:
“ I am disappointed that this suspension has occurred, yet understand and respect that WWE upholds their Wellness Policy to the letter and won’t compromise on its integrity. I violated policy by not turning in portions of required paperwork in the time frame WWE Medical deemed timely. I look forward to my return.”
WWE is yet to make any statement regarding the statements made by Eva.
Earlier this year, WWE suspended Adam Rose for 60 days as he violated the company’s Wellness policy for the second time. Adam, who tested positive for using Adderall XR, claimed to have a prescription from his doctor as well. In his Twitter, he even posted a handwritten note of his doctor which indicated that Adam’s statement was legit. Within a few days, his suspension was withdrawn.
As a result of her suspension, Eva Marie won’t be able to compete in her scheduled match at the biggest event of the summer. This Sunday, at WWE Summerslam, she was supposed to participate in a 6 women tag team with Natalya and Alexa Bliss against the team of Naomi, Carmella and Becky Lynch. WWE has confirmed that the tag match will be taking place at the event but Eva will be replaced by a mystery partner, rumored to be Nikki Bella.
