WWE News: Fan removed from arena during RAW taping last night

A fan was escorted out of the arena last night on RAW

What’s the story?

According to PWInsider, a fan was removed from the arena last night for bouncing a beach-ball, during a match between Sasha Banks and Alicia Fox on RAW. The fan was reportedly escorted out of the Prudential Center during RAW that aired from Newark, New Jersey last night.

In case you didn’t know...

‘The Boss’ Sasha Banks faced Alicia Fox (w/Noam Dar) on last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW. During the matchup, a fan allegedly blew up a beach ball and began bouncing it - something that’s usually disallowed by WWE during the live broadcast of its flagship show.

The heart of the matter

Last night’s episode of RAW saw a beach ball being bounced around by the fans amidst chants of “CM Punk” and “This is boring” during the Cruiserweight tag-team match. Besides, the singles matchup between Banks and Fox also saw a beach-ball causing a distraction while the bout was underway.

The fan was apprehended by WWE security officials during the Banks-Fox match, and subsequently escorted out of the arena. The entire incident is said to have caused a ruckus during the live broadcast of RAW - although some of the proceedings were cut off owing to the camera-angles adopted by the WWE production team.

What’s next?

Fans were afforded a higher level of freedom during the Attitude Era and the Ruthless Aggression Era and antics such as the aforementioned ‘beach-ball bouncing’ were commonplace.

However, we’re now in a different time and age in professional wrestling, where such juvenile stunts are frowned upon. Further details on this incident including the name and motive of the fan will be revealed in the days to come.

Author’s Take

BeachballMania runs wild, brother! Alright, let’s get serious for a bit, shall we? This past RAW was weird, in the sense that not only did the crowd seemed rude but also disinterested in the two aforementioned matchups, the Cruiserweight match in particular.

Nevertheless, the WWE Superstars put their bodies at risk day-in-and-day-out for the sake of entertainment and we ought to show them the respect they deserve. Stay classy, fans!
