What's the story?

On this week's edition of SmackDown Live, the returning duo of Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan surprisingly won the SmackDown Tag Team Championships by defeating former four-time champions The Usos.

However, following their historic win, the team of Bryan and Rowan were seemingly mocked on social media by one half of The Revival in Scott Dawson.

In case you didn't know...

The SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships were vacated last week by The Hardy Boyz after Jeff Hardy announced that he had suffered an untimely injury and was set to undergo knee surgery following the attack executed on him and his brother Matt by Lars Sullivan.

Having won the belt from The Usos on the SmackDown after WrestleMania 35, The Hardy Boyz's reign unfortunately came to an end after just 21 days, as on tonight's episode of SD Live, the duo of Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan won the tag team belts on the blue brand for the very first time.

The heart of the matter

Despite the reports of The Revival asking for their release from the WWE, the duo of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder seemingly ended up winning the Raw Tag Team Titles the very same month, as the former two-time NXT Tag Team Champions were on course to changing tag team wrestling in the WWE.

However, regardless of a successful title defense at Fastlane, The Revival eventually ended up losing their titles on the WrestleMania 35 Pre-Show to the team of Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. And ever since then, Dash and Dawson have been pretty much humiliated every other week by the likes of The Usos, who arrived on Raw after the Superstar Shake-up.

WIth Bryan and Rowan capturing the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles, the duo has subsequently revealed that even they share a similar goal which is to change tag team wrestling forever in the WWE.

The Revival's Scott Dawson took note of Bryan's post-SmackDown and definitely remains supportive of the fact that the former WWE Champion is actually willing to lead a tag team revolution in the WWE.

What's next?

The Revival is currently stuck in a feud against The Usos on Raw, whereas, Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan are expected to defend their newly won straps on SmackDown Live in the coming few weeks or maybe even at Money in the Bank.
