WWE News: Former ROH Superstar might join WWE soon

Big reunion in the WWE?

WWE announced today that Austin Aries and a mystery partner have been added to the 16-team WWE NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, which will commence from this Wednesday and end at NXT Takeover: Toronto, which will take place during the Survivor Series weekend.

PWInsider is reporting that Aries’ mystery partner is none other than WWE’s latest signing, Roderick Strong. Strong left Ring of Honor this past June to work for the WWE. Strong also known as Mr. ROH, has had a storied career in Ring of Honor, working with several current WWE Superstars such as AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Shinsuke Nakamura, Luke Gallows, and Daniel Bryan.

Strong has also shared a long history with Austin Aries who’s also a Ring of Honor veteran. Both Strong and Aries were part of the Generation Next faction and have also together held the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships.

There are several teams participating in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic such as Hideo Itami and Kota Ibushi, Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger, DIY (Gargano and Ciampa), The Revival (Dash and Dawson), TM-61 and many more.

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic was created last year to honor the memory of the late Dusty Rhodes, who was a trainer and producer at NXT. Finn Balor and Samoa Joe won it last year at NXT Takeover: Respect by defeating Baron Corbin and Rhyno.

The addition of Strong will give an added star element to the already star-studded tournament. The teams have been created not just from the NXT roster, but also from the Cruiserweight Classic (CWC) roster. CWC stars like the Bollywood Boyz, Mustafa Ali, and HoHo Lun are also going to take part in the tournament.

What do you guys think? Will Strong make his NXT debut by teaming up with Aries? Or will it be some other Superstar? And, who do you want to win the tournament? Please, tell us your thoughts by writing them in the comments below.
