From The WWE/Impact Wrestling Rumor Mill: Former Knockouts Champion was at the Performance Center this week

Madison
Madison Rayne is one of the greatest TNA Knockouts Champions in the company's history...

What's the story?

Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that former TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne was at the WWE Performance Center this week.

There are veterans as well as newcomers in the Orlando, Florida facility this week including Serena Deeb who competed at the Mae Young Classic and Karen Q from the Women Of Honor.

In case you didn't know...

Madison Rayne was very successful during her eight-year run with Impact Wrestling that spanned from 2009 to 2017.

She won the short-lived TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships twice but is also a five-time TNA Knockouts Champion that ranks second all-time only to Gail Kim and Angelina Love who have six reigns.

She was also a part of one of the most successful female stables in professional wrestling, The Beautiful People with Angelina Love and Velvet Sky.

The heart of the matter...

Mike Johnson mentions that the WWE showed interest in Rayne since July. She was backstage at a WWE taping then when they were in Nashville, Tennessee.

Rayne's departure from Impact Wrestling/Global Force Wrestling was very quiet and not highly publicized. She worked on the creative team for the Knockouts prior to Anthem purchasing the company at the beginning of this year.

What's next?

Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for official details on if the WWE offers Madison Rayne a contract. Given her success in Impact Wrestling paired with the WWE's interest, it almost seems certain they will come to terms.

Author's take...

This will be a tremendous get for the WWE if they sign Madison Rayne. I've always been a fan of hers from her time in Impact Wrestling.

Her track record says it all in terms of the championships she collected there, and if the WWE is going to add a women's tag team division like Lita alluded to a couple of weeks ago, it is important that they get someone with the experience of Rayne signed.
