People Magazine is reporting on more information that has been revealed regarding the break-up between John Cena and Nikki Bella. A source told the magazine several details regarding the split, as well as when the marriage was supposed to take place.

The heart of the matter
The break-up occurred just weeks before Cena and Bella were set to marry on May 5th in Mexico. It was confirmed that it was Cena's decision to end the six-year relationship.
The source who spoke with People Magazine stated that Cena started to get cold feet as the wedding day approached. This source would also go into further detail below:
“She never gave him an ultimatum. He talked a really good game about having changed, about having his priorities straight, about knowing what’s important, and that it was her. But as the day got closer, it was like he just went back to who he’s always been — which is someone who puts himself first, always,” the insider says. “He’s an incredibly dedicated, driven, ambitious guy. And for the longest time he said he didn’t think he had room in his life for a spouse or kids. It seems like in the end that was still the truth.”
The source told People that if that was the case, he never should have proposed to her in front of millions of people at WrestleMania 33. As a result of this, Nikki is "heartbroken" and ended the interview with the following statement:
“In wrestling there are two archetypes: faces and heels,” the source explains. “A face is a good guy, a hero, who you root for. A heel is a villain, who sometimes can seem like a good guy but then turns around and shows his true, evil colors. John Cena just revealed himself as the ultimate heel.”
The ex-couple released a statement via social media on Sunday evening stating:
“While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives.”
