What’s the story?
Following his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier today, former Universal Champion Bill Goldberg has reacted to the news via a recent post on his official Instagram account.
In case you didn’t know…
Goldberg’s last run in the WWE began in 2016 when he shocked the entire world by defeating ‘The Beast’ Brock Lesnar within 26 seconds, during the 2016 Survivor Series pay-per-view.
The former WCW World Champion also had one last World Title run in 2017, when he captured the WWE Universal Championship from Kevin Owens, however, Bill eventually dropped the title to Brock Lesnar at last year’s Wrestlemania which was apparently his last match for the WWE.
The heart of the matter
In a recent Instagram post, Bill Goldberg wrote that last week wasn’t one of the best weeks of his life as he has been suffering severely from flu. But, after being announced as the first inductee for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018, Goldberg stated that he couldn’t have asked for a better start to this brand new week.
Additionally, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion also thanked all his fans who have supported him throughout his journey in Professional Wrestling and Bill also claimed that this accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without the support of all his fans. Lastly, Goldberg added that he is very honoured and humbled to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
What’s next?
The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony for 2018 will take place the night before Wrestlemania 33, that is, on the 6th of April at the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans.
Upon his departure from the WWE in 2017, Goldberg said in a promo that he might just make his return to the squared circle for one more match in the future, meaning that there is still a chance that the fans might get to witness the legend of Bill Goldberg wrestle in one more match in the future. However, as of right now, Bill’s only focus will be towards his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Bill Goldberg has achieved almost everything in his career and I believe that there is no reason whatsoever for the 51-year-old to return to Pro Wrestling once again, and instead, I think that Goldberg should officially announce his retirement from this sport and enjoy his life.
