WWE News: Goldust incensed over bootleg Dusty Rhodes memorabilia, threatens lawsuit

Goldust took to Twitter, to honour his father’s lasting legacy

What’s the story?

WWE Superstar Goldust, who is the son of The American Dream Dusty Rhodes, took to Twitter to air his annoyance over fans selling bootleg merchandise of his father. He was also very critical of people who forged his father's signature.

When fans responded negatively to his tweets, Goldust had scathing replies for them as well. In one tweet, The Bizarre One said that he prayed that fans don’t go through what his family had gone through.

In case you didn’t know...

Dusty Rhodes is one of the best-known characters in professional wrestling, playing the role of ‘the son of a plumber’ in several iconic storylines during the NWA era. Both his sons Dustin (better known as Goldust) and Cody (also known as Stardust) are renowned professional wrestlers.

Dusty Rhodes played an integral part in NXT, shaping and moulding several talented performers who are in the current WWE roster. He followed it up by saying this:

A fan interjected and brought up this point:

Goldust had the following response to the fan’s tweet:

What's next?

Piracy is inevitable so one just has to wait and watch as to whether Goldust does take legal action against the concerned guilty parties.

Author’s take

Goldust may be right in theory, but piracy is too large a phenomenon to contain. The sale of non-authorized signed collectables may be a grey area, but we support any action that Goldust may take against memorabilia with forged signatures of the American Dream.
