WWE News: Goldust reacts to being paired with Alicia Fox for WWE Mixed Match Challenge

The final team for the MMC

What’s the story?

Earlier today WWE announced via Twitter that Raw Superstars Goldust and Alicia Fox will team up for the Mixed Match Challenge. The Bizarre One has since taken to Twitter with a series of messages commenting on his partner and her accomplishments.

In case you didn’t know...

The Mixed Match Challenge will debut on Facebook Watch after next week's SmackDown Live and will feature eight mixed gender tag teams competing to win a $100,000 donation to a charity of their choice.

Goldust and Alicia Fox join an already star-studded set of teams with Asuka and The Miz also being announced today, along with Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss, Finn Balor and Sasha Banks, Bobby Roode and Charlotte, Jimmy Uso and Naomi, Rusev and Lana, as well as Nia Jax and Apollo Crews.

Goldust had previously been asking Asuka to be his partner for the MMC but it looks like WWE had other plans for both of them.

The heart of the matter

With so many incredible teams already announced, you would be forgiven for writing off this pairing but the three-time Intercontinental Champion had a lot to say about being paired with the former Divas Champion.

What’s next?

WWE Mixed Match Challenge is just over a week away but with both of these Superstars being from the Red Brand, we may just see some fallout from the announcement tonight.

Author’s take

While Goldust and Fox may not be the most exciting pairing for a lot of fans, it could be pretty interesting to see them face off against The Miz and Asuka after the seeds were sewn for Goldie and Asuka to pair up. Goldust and Fox are possibly the most eccentric pair announced for Mixed Match Challenge and both are incredible characters with an abundance of experience.

How will they get along? Can they co-exist as a team? Thankfully we don't need to wait too long to find out.
