Hardy Boyz returned to WWE at Wrestlemania 33

What’s the story?

Matt and Jeff Hardy are the reigning Raw Tag Team Champions and it’s wonderful. Though the Hardys have returned home, they recently made a few appearances for a couple of independent promotions that had booked them before they signed with WWE.

A recent tweet by Matt Hardy clarified their commitment towards WWE in which he announced that the brothers will be part of the upcoming Raw live events after seven years.

In case you didn’t know...

Matt and Jeff Hardy returned to WWE at Wrestlemania 33 where they competed in the Raw Tag Team Championship ladder match. They successfully captured the gold at the Showcase of the Immortals and since then they have become regular faces on Raw.

After choosing not to renew their deal with TNA, the Hardys decided to make the switch to WWE but did everything in their capacity to keep the return a surprise. It is speculated that the Hardy brothers did not cancel their bookings after Wrestlemania to avoid dropping an indicator of their WWE comeback.

Recently, Matt hardy had posted a tweet to express his gratitude towards the WWE for allowing them to complete their independent bookings.

The heart of the matter

Matt Hardy announced that he and Jeff will work the upcoming weekend’s Raw live events in the following tweet:

This is supposed to be the first set of live events since Wrestlemania 33 and this week’s Superstar Shakeup. This announcement is also a hopeful indicator that the Hardy Boyz are not back on a part-time basis.

What’s next?

The Hardy Boyz are scheduled to defend their recently acquired Raw Tag Team Championships at Payback against Cesaro and Sheamus.

It is great to see the Hardys back and it is amazing news that they will be working the live events. Their return has been long anticipated by the WWE Universe and the fact that they will operate on a full-time basis is exactly the kind of professionalism expected from Team Xtreme.
