WWE News: Here's what happened before Raw went on the air

What's the story?

Before Raw went on the air in Omaha, Nebraska, a Raw Superstar debuted a new song dedicating it to the people of Omaha.

In case you didn't know....

Elias Samson debuted on the main roster as the Drifter, playing his guitar and roaming around the backstage without saying a word to a single person for the longest time.

Kurt Angle finally put him in a match with Ambrose which he won by disqualification. He continued his side feuds with Ambrose and later Finn Balor. His real feuds seemed more to be with the audience though, and anyone who interrupted his performances.

The Heart of the matter

Elias Samson is lacking a feud, but that did not stop him from making his presence felt to the audience at Raw. Before Raw went on the air in Omaha, Nebraska, Elias Samson decided to serenade the audience with his new song.

Elias was not received well obviously as his song mocked the city. As a heel this gimmick of Elias allows him to pick up some easy heat in the crowd and it's a good one.

What's next?

Elias lacks a proper feud at the moment and has not had one since debuting on the main roster. He seems to drift between opponents, and with Finn now feuding with Wyatt he is left pretty empty with little to do.

Author's take

What Elias needs at the moment is one opponent that he can concentrate on. He was the side feud for Ambrose when Ambrose was facing the Miz and the side feud for Balor when Balor was facing Wyatt.

It does not matter how much heat he can get till he gets a feud as that is what will solidify him in his role to the fans.
