A mask means everything to a Luchador. In Lucha Libre, winning the mask of an opponent is considered as a higher accomplishment than winning a championship belt. Hence, for Luchadors like Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Kalisto etc, their mask in the most important part of their wrestling attire. In an attempt to humiliate, often it is seen that other wrestlers try to unmask the masked wrestlers.
In his WWE tenure, Rey Mysterio was often subjected to such treatment and now Kalisto and Sin Cara are treated likewise. Wrestlinginc.com has reported that during the recent WWE Main Event tapings, Sin Cara squared off against the lone wolf, Baron Corbin.
While the match was going on, Cara took a backdrop and suddenly his mask slipped off his face. He then quickly scrambled to get it back. A fan in attendance posted a photo of that incident on Twitter :
Other matches taped for Main Event were Apollo Crews vs Viktor, Dolph Ziggler vs Stardust and Damien Sandow vs Titus O’Neil.
