WWE News: Huge Elimination Chamber qualifying match confirmed for WWE Raw

Ro
Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt will battle for a spot in the Elimination Chamber

What's the story?

Three Superstars for the Men's Elimination Chamber Match are already confirmed with John Cena, Braun Strowman, and Elias winning their respective matches to book their place in the number one contender match at the end of the month.

The winner of the match will go on to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at WrestleMania, but three participants are yet to be confirmed for the match, with at least one of which being confirmed from this week's upcoming Monday Night Raw.

In case you didn't know...

The Elimination Chamber is set to be a historic night already with the first ever Women's Elimination Chamber Match being announced too.

The Men's match is shaping up to be quite the spectacle, though, with John Cena and Elias clashing in recent weeks and, well, everything Braun Strowman touches seems to disintegrate into smithereens or end up hospitalised.

The heart of the matter

Last week, it was confirmed that spots in the Elimination Chamber would not be given, they'd have to be earned. Well, it looks like that will be a running theme as, this week, Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt have been confirmed to do battle for the fourth spot in the Elimination Chamber Match.

Reigns and Wyatt have quite the history

On their preview for Monday Night Raw, WWE.com posted the following:

"Live on Raw, Roman Reigns battles Bray Wyatt for the right to enter the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match, with the winner of that grueling contest going on to battle Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania."

At the height of their rivalry, Reigns and Wyatt clashed inside Hell in a Cell in 2015

The match will have a lot to live up to as last week's matches were all enthralling in their own way, with Braun Strowman opening Raw by tipping part of the stage onto Kane to win the Last Man Standing match and earning a spot in the Chamber - a feat that saw a completely new announce table be built at ringside.

Elias then managed to score a cheap win over 'Woken' Matt Hardy off the back of a Bray Wyatt distraction. It'll be interesting to see if that rivalry comes into play this week.

While no-one can ever call John Cena winning a match a surprise, many expected Finn Balor to progress in his match against Mr. Hustle Loyalty Respect. But a Super Attitude Adjustment saw the 16-time World Champion seal his place in the Chamber.

What's next?

Well, Monday Night Raw, of course. We know we'll see at least one more qualifying match between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt, but will we see any others? And how will this one play out? These two have a storied history, so it'll definitely be interesting.

Author's take

I think it's possibly WWE's worst kept secret that Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns have been pencilled in for WrestleMania since last year's event where Reigns became one of only two men, alongside Lesnar, to defeat The Undertaker on the grandest stage of them all.

It's hard to see past Reigns here with many believing that, no matter who he was against, he'd win and go to the Elimination Chamber - but he is on a losing streak and stranger things have happened in WWE.

You'd have to put Reigns as favourite here, though, but this match is beginning to look incredibly stacked already - and making Elimination Chamber a must-see!
