What's the story?

Seth Rollins will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Jinder Mahal next week on Monday Night Raw.

In case you didn't know...

Rollins came out to make the save earlier tonight on Raw when Kevin Owens and Jinder Mahal were attacking Roman Reigns. This then led to a tag team match where Rollins picked up the victory for his team when he pinned Owens off a Stomp, but Jinder was able to get his hands on a steel chair after the match and used it to attack the two former Shield members.

Rollins was able to pick himself back up after the attack and exit the arena, but much like Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank, Rollins will be out for revenge next week.

The heart of the matter

WWE recently announced that following that attack earlier in the show, Rollins will now defend his Intercontinental Championship against Mahal next week on Raw. Mahal moved over to Raw a few weeks ago as the United States Champion and could be one of the biggest tests that Rollins has faced in his reign as Champion.

Rollins himself has already responded to the match announcement and it appears that "Red Hot Rollins" is already prepared for the former WWE Champion.

What's next?

Seth Rollins is a fighting Champion, but he could have bitten off more than he could chew with Mahal, who also has Reigns in his sights in less than four weeks time at Money in the Bank.

Author's take

Rollins has made the Intercontinental Championship great once again and his weekly open challenges have been one of the main reasons for this. Rollins is one of the hottest stars in the company right now and he will ensure that this is another incredible title defense next week on Raw.
