WWE News: Huge title match confirmed for SmackDown Live ahead of WrestleMania 35

Samoa Joe as the new US Champion

What's the story?

Coming off a huge title defense at last night's Fastlane pay-per-view, current WWE US Champion, Samoa Joe is set to defend his title once again on tomorrow's episode of SmackDown Live.

In case you didn't know...

On last week's edition of SmackDown Live, R-Truth issued yet another US Open Challenge which was eventually answered by three different men in the form of Andrade, Rey Mysterio, and eventual winner Samoa Joe, who was crowned as the new US Champion.

Marking his first title win on the main roster, Joe would go on to successfully defend his strap in a rematch against the same three men at last night's Fastlane pay-per-view, as he defeated Andrade, R-Truth, and Rey Mysterio, who passed out via the Coquina Clutch.

The heart of the matter

Samoa Joe won the United States Championship last week by pinning Andrade and last night at Fastlane he marked his first defense of the title by submitting Rey Mysterio. In both occasions, Joe failed to pin former champion R-Truth, who is now automatically eligible to a title rematch against Joe.

Having failed to pin Truth, Joe would definitely like to right that wrong, as he is once again set to defend his US Title tomorrow night on SmackDown Live against former champion R-Truth in a one-on-one match.

WWE might have been seemingly done with rematches but giving R-Truth his rightful shot at the US Title won't do any harm as well. Below is an excerpt which WWE posted on their official site prior to tomorrow's show:

R-Truth will get a one-on-one opportunity to reclaim the title on SmackDown LIVE when he challenges Joe. Can Truth win back the star-spangled title and get back to making his childhood hero, John Cena, proud? Or will Samoa Joe make good on his promise to demolish anyone in his path?

What's next?

Samoa Joe and R-Truth will sort out their issues over the WWE US Title tomorrow night on SmackDown Live, which takes place in Dayton, Ohio and could very well mark the beginning of yet another US Title reign for R-Truth.
