What's the story?

The lawsuit that Charlotte Flair's ex-husband Riki Paul Johnson had filed against her, seems to have been settled.

Johnson had filed the lawsuit stating that he was wrongly defamed in Charlotte Flair's book, Second Nature.

In case you didn't know. . .

Back in October 2018, Riki Paul Johnson filed a lawsuit against Charlotte Flair, her father Ric Flair, WWE, and the author of the book, Brian Shields. Charlotte had made several allegations against Johnson in her 2017 book, Second Nature. The SmackDown Women's Champion claimed in the book that Johnson was unable to father children.

The lawsuit stated that Charlotte's comments had affected Johnson's personal life as well as his social standing. Charlotte had also claimed in the book that her husband was physically as well as psychologically abusive towards her. Johnson went on to say that he had dash cam footage to prove that Charlotte's statements were a lie.

WWE was quick to comment on the lawsuit when it was filed last year.

We recently received what appears to be a meritless lawsuit and we will vigorously defend ourselves.

The heart of the matter

A copy of the notice of settlement has surfaced on Twitter, which says that the lawsuit has been resolved and a settlement has been agreed upon between the two parties. Additionally, PWInsider has confirmed that that the lawsuit has in fact been settled.

What's next?

Now that a settlement has been reached, Charlotte Flair can breathe a sigh of relief and put her entire focus on the biggest match of her career, this Sunday at WrestleMania 35.

What are your thoughts on the lawsuit that was filed? Did Flair go too far with her words in order to promote the book?
