What's the story?

Mae Young Classic contestant Jazzy Gabert was recently in interaction with former WWE World Champion Edge and Christian on their E&C Pod of Awesomeness podcast.

During her talk with Edge and Christian, Gabert discussed Alpha Female gimmick, trying out for Impact Wrestling and her run with Impact Wrestling, and also talked about WWE.

In case you didn't know...

Jazzy Gabert aka Alpha Female is considered as one of the finest wrestlers to ever make it out of Germany. Gabert, who is the stepdaughter of Japanese wrestling legend Masahiro Chono, made her Pro Wrestling debut in 2010 for a promotion called Pro-Wrestling: EVE.

Gabert has previously wrestled in Japan for top Puroresu promotion, World Wonder Ring Stardom and during her time with the promotion, she managed to capture the World of Stardom Championship, Artist of Stardom Championship, and the Goddess of Stardom Championship.

The 35-year-old has also wrestled under Impact Wrestling and in 2017 she also took part in the inaugural WWE Mae Young Classic tournament. However, Gabert was unfortunately eliminated from the tournament in the first round itself by Abbey Laith.

The heart of the matter

During her chat with Edge and Christian, Jazzy talked about a host of wrestling related topics and here are a few highlights from her E&C podcast:

On her Alpha Female gimmick:

According to Gabert, her Alpha Female gimmick is based on the advice of WWE Hall of Famer, Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Apparently, Hart gave Jazzy the advice back in 2008 and ever since then the German superstar decided to initiate her Alpha Female gimmick.

"I met Bret Hart on a tour, that was like my first real professional tour where a lot of professional wrestlers were there just like Sabu, Rob Van Dam, Sandman, and Bret Hart."

On her Impact Wrestling tryout:

Jazzy Gabert stated that her Impact Wrestling tryout went really bad and everything was just bad, including her in-ring performance. The German superstar claimed that she made a lot of mistakes during the tryout and also had a harsh interaction with James Storm who was busy arguing with Bubba Ray at the time.

"Bully Ray was responsible for the tryout people, so I went over to him and I remember that he and what's his name, Storm? I think 'Cowboy' James Storm. Yeah. They were, like, arguing and had a big fight and I was like, 'I am going to wait till they are over and then I will jump in.'
I waited and I thought they were over and they were not over, but I interrupted them by mistake and James Storm was yelling at me and said I couldn't be work and I'd get nowhere, and '[who] the hell do you think you are?' Oh my gosh. It can't get any worse."- Gabert stated.

On her WWE tryout:

Gabert said that in 2015 she had another tryout, this time with the WWE but much like last time she once again received a 'no' and claimed that she wanted to retire after that. However, following the turn of events Jazzy decided to try her luck in MMA.

What's next?

Jazzy Gabert recently revealed that in 2017, WWE decided to overturn their contract offer to Jazzy after discovering that the Alpha Female has had three herniated discs in her neck.

Author's Take

I think Jazzy Gabert is an amazingly talented wrestler who would have been a great addition to the WWE roster, but it is truly a shame that WWE never gave the Alpha Female a chance to showcase her talent, other than the Mae Young Classic.
